George Michael: Singer, songwriter, record producer. From the international popularity of duo international sensation Wham. to solo artist megastar. George Michael's solo career got off to the strongest start imaginable with the release of a duet with Aretha Franklin in 1987. Known for his personal affairs, his private life became a target for the media. These personal troubles making headlines throughout the '90s and the 'Noughties' became a struggle to fight his own reputation.

In January 1991, Michael began his Cover to Cover Tour, comprising 30 shows across the United Kingdom, Brazil, Japan, Canada and the United States. The tour was not a billed specifically to promote his new album, but was more about Michael singing covers of his favourite songs, mixed with a smattering of new and more recent tracks, and a selection of oldies. On 27th January 91, George performed at the second Rock In Rio Festival in Brazil's second city, where he gave one of the tour's very finest performances. The show included an unexpected appearance from George's old Wham! partner, Andrew Ridgely, for a three-track encore to conclude the concert which included 1991 versions of Careless Whisper, I'm Your Man and Freedom. Recorded for live TV and Radio Broadcast, the full concert has never before been released.

I'm not sure it's from this specific performance, because in the documentary they mention him changing the set list at one point, but they are still quite good. Recommended.

This behind-the-scenes documentary, named after a security guard's disbelieving comment, is your standard making-of rock doc, emphasizing the enormity and complexity of the stage production and the backstage antics of the star and crew. There's never a dull moment in this documentary, and even if you've seen plenty like them (you have), it doesn't make it any less engaging or charming. Highly recommended.
