A joint edit of the first three silent films about Švejk: The Good Soldier Švejk (1926, directed by Karel Lamač), Švejk at the Front (1926, directed by Karel Lamač) and Švejk in Russian Captivity (1926, directed by Svatopluk Innemann, based on the work by Karel Vaněk). The main role was played by the then very popular Karel Noll. The last silent sequel Švejk in Civilian (1927) exists separately, but the copy of the film is considerably damaged.

Antique dealer Samek lives a bachelor life. He financially helps his housekeeper raise her daughter Mána, who is learning to be a hairdresser in the countryside. On the recommendation of matchmaker Mudra, Samek decides to get married. Mána returns to Prague and Samek, who has not seen her for a long time, is enchanted by her charm. Mána has the opportunity to get a nice job, but she lacks knowledge of German. Samek offers to teach her while they go for walks together. During a German conversation on Petřín Hill, Mána catches the eye of electrician Vašek, who falls in love with her. He thinks that Mána does not know Czech, so he buys a German textbook so that he can speak to her. Soon the opportunity arises and the two young people confess their love. Samek is about to propose marriage to Mána. But Mána prevents him. She confides in him about her love and asks him to give Vašek a job...

Baron Dolanský is deeply interested in eugenics, he knows what happens when the same plants are crossed over and over again, and he rightly concludes that it will be no different with people. He is a widower and has no descendants, so his nephew Max must provide the future heir to the coat of arms. Fear of possible degeneration compels the Baron to provide the family with new blood. She first prepares for her role by exploring the outskirts, where she meets Vendelín Pleticha, who becomes her guide to the local pubs and her teacher of the vernacular. Dr. Přelouč is enthusiastic about the poor, uneducated girl and tries to teach her the basics of social behavior and standard language. All this until he discovers that Míla has deceived him and that Pleticha is not her father, as she had claimed...

Rudolf Bartoš, the owner of a farm, quarry and factory, is extremely rich, however, he is unapproachable and irritable, and the dread of his employees. One day he falls down a steep slope by a river and hurts himself. The quarryman Fábera finds him groaning in pain and takes him to his cottage.

Folk song collector Dr. Šerk arrives in the remote village of Lesov. He is enchanted by the singing of sixteen-year-old Madla Satranová and he records her songs for radio broadcast. Šerk's friend, composer Jaroslav Klán, takes care of a group of orphans, from whom he has formed a choir. Šerk brings the orphaned Madla to him. The teenage girl begins to help the housewife Nána with the care of the children.

The illegitimate child, Marie Růžová, grows up in the family of the Bořický miller. Childhood and youth spend with the son of Bořice, Klement. Klement asserts the rights, becomes a lawyer, and marries Jirina. In order not to cause further contradictions, Mary will go to Prague secretly at night. There he is living heavily as a waitress. He resists the insults of architect Jansky until he ultimately decides to commit suicide in despair.

The football team consists of eleven players. And the owner of the car repair shop, Kryštof Klapzuba, has exactly that many athletically gifted sons. It is no wonder that one day the former international Hájek persuades him to form a football team out of his sons. The enthusiastic sons train diligently and after a few minor hiccups, the first results in the form of won matches begin to appear. In addition to the sporting results, however, love also appears...

Lieutenant Lukáš was transferred to the marching battalion in České Budějovice together with Švejko. On the way, Švejk makes Lukáš uncomfortable with a bald superior, a passenger in civilian clothes, and then because of pulling the handbrake, he is removed from the train and brought to the station master. The fine for Švejk will be paid by one lucky man, for whom Švejk's stopping of the train catapulted his beloved woman directly into his arms. Švejk goes to Budějovice on foot. His journey is full of humorous incidents. After arriving at the barracks, the regiment with Švejk and Lukáš is soon sent to Hungary, where Lukáš has an adventure with Mrs. Kakonyová. The owner of a suburban house, Anna Faktorová, makes life miserable for the tenants. There is strict order in the house and the only one who gets along well with Mrs. Faktorová is the parasite and thief Gustav, who informs on the others. An old bachelor named Zajíček, a pawnshop clerk, moves into the attic. After a while, he finds a liking for his neighbor, music teacher Věra Hronová. Grocer Mejstřík is worried about the fate of his shop on the ground floor. Spiritualist Šoltys is forced to pay increased rent when he is caught at a seance, and on top of that, a clock goes missing from his apartment. A dealer later comes to the pawnshop with them. Zajíček recognizes the clock and it turns out that Gustav stole the clock. Zajíček, who has become close to Věra, is jealous when he sees her talking to an older, rich man...

Associate Professor Jakub Johanek was looking forward to his uncle's inheritance and celebrated it with his friends in advance, not knowing what treasures he could actually expect. He had a few too many drinks and woke up the next day with a perfect window. He is tormented by a hangover, and on top of that, the housekeeper comes in with a statement that he robbed her daughter of her wedding ring yesterday - so the associate professor is in for a quick wedding. Although Jakub has been eyeing the girl for a long time, he now has completely different concerns. He has been approached by a certain loafer who claims to have seen Johanek set fire to a stack of wood at night with his own eyes. If he doesn't get a hefty ransom, he will go and report him...

The peace is disturbed by an invitation to an "apron party", where their daughter Pepička meets a young municipal official, František Vejvara. The two young people fall in love. Their relationship is also supported by Mrs. Kondelíková, because Vejvara could become a welcome groom for her daughter. However, Pepička's acquaintance disrupts the established order of Kondelík's life.

Country girl Pepina sometimes misses her boyfriend Ferd. He works for the detective company "Bdělá soůva" in Prague. Pepina takes the opportunity to visit Ferd when the filmmakers offer her to go with them. However, they accidentally run her over on the outskirts of Prague. Pepina is unfamiliar with Prague and just by chance gets lost in the theater where Ferd is on duty...

After the study year, 18 year-old Julio returns to his parental home, a little chateau on the Otava river. There he converges with his childhood friend Petr and the young boatman's daughter Klárka. Sharing her beguilement with Simon, who has quickly turned a tranquil summer atmosphere into a relationship drama, is Julio's cousin Rosa.

She unexpectedly receives a letter from America from a certain Jonn Sam, who informs her that he is coming to Europe, where he intends to settle down. He brings her news about the inheritance that Mrs. Kateřina is to receive from his deceased uncle.

Johny's father did not approve of his love and so he withheld Helen's letters, but he sent money to Helen's aunt for the child. Johny intends to visit Helen and her daughter with his friend Jimmy Sládek and informs his aunt about it by telegraph...

Painter Johnny Miller bets his friends he can find his house blindfolded. But he stumbles into a bandits' camp, and being mistaken for one of them, is sent to rob the villa of Frank Sellins, a banker, and his niece Lilly.

Country girl Helena falls in love with an artist painting the local village scenery and one evening she lets herself be seduced by him. The artists leaves but soon invites Helena to Prague where they make love again. Helena then returns home to her sick father and refuses the constant attentions of the gamekeeper Rýza. After some time she realizes that she is pregnant. Since she knows that the artist will not marry her, she goes to visit her aunt who takes her to an abortionist. When the girl returns home after the abortion she discovers her father has died. The opportunist aunt sees her chance and moves in with Helena and persuades her to marry Rýza.
