Albert Engström's anecdotes of Småland have been put together to make a comedy film about Johannes and Cornelius, two smallholding farmers and best friends.

On a tourist trip abroad the passengers on the coach witness an assassination attempt on the President Hurkas. One of the tourists has evidence against the perpetrators, and is killed when the coach reaches Sweden. Another passenger observes how one of the perpetrators is picked up by a yellow car. She is kidnapped and locked up in a mental hospital.

A group of private soldiers arrives at the Service of the Air Defense. Some sweet army girls are located nearby.

When Nora's father unexpectedly dies, she moves to her uncle Berthold and his wife Alice. Berthold is immediately attracted to the 19-year old girl, but his wife, jealous and alcoholic, notices it and becomes hostile to Nora. Nora begins her art studies to become a painter and gets to know the young Johan Manel, who falls in love with her.

A young woman dies from a drug overdose, and her brother and his friend try to find out who supplied her with the narcotics. Soon, they're chased all over Stockholm by the cruel but suave ring leader Harry and his thugs. Among the wildness is a fight in a brothel filled with naked girls, and when Servus, one of the thugs, fails to kill our heroes, Harry has his men kill Servus with a razor blade equipped glove. Oh, and the heroine is raped by a guy sucking on a comforter
