Edmond Dantes, a young sailor from Marseille, is being dragged in chains to the Chateau d'If, a state prison. He protests his innocence, but the jailors laugh and torment him before locking him up in solitary confinement. In 20th century Paris, a farewell reception is being held after the a millionaire who had founded many enterprises. His will says that his eldest son George will succeed the count with the stipulation that he marry a woman of either blue blood or high society within half a year but Georges dreams of marrying and loving forever a woman destined to cross his path. He feels oppressed by the idea of getting married merely to fulfill his father's will. His friend tells George to go easy, advising him that marriage is one thing and love another. He then leads George to a revue theater he knows well. George, who gets drunk at the theater, remembers his father's advice in the will: Go to church when in distress. He heads for a church. However, on the way to the church, he falls down. At the moment he thinks in fading consciousness that he is freezing to death, he sees an angel.

An anonymous letter is delivered to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. The letter states that a criminal of a murder case will appear at the countdown party Masquerade Night that will be held at Hotel Cortesia Tokyo. Detective Kosuke Nitta must go undercover and work again at the Hotel Cortesia Tokyo. There, he meets Naomi Yamagishi, who works as a concierge. Without any information about the criminal, except that the person will be in attendance, Detective Kosuke Nitta works feverishly to find the criminal among the 500 attendees.

In January 2009, the Korean historical fantasy/drama The Legend, featuring Bae Yong Joon, having been turned into a Takarazuka-style musical by playwright and director Koike Shuuichirou, was performed by Flower Troupe and attracted a lot of attention. The story takes place at the time when the protagonist became the king of Gouryeo, which existed on the Korean Peninsula from the era before Christ until the 7th century. It tells of a repeating fate and agonizing love that has lived on for thousands of years. This time, it will be brought to the stage in a new version by a new Star Troupe led by Yuzuki Reon.

The setting is the Italian capital of Rome, whose postwar economic revival is flourishing, during the 1960s. One man, Salvatore Ferri, pulls off a stunning debut at the Florence Men's Suit Collection. "Gran Cielo" tailor's, which he started up and became the most famous in Italy, will be launched in America, he has decided. Gran Cielo suits are said to bring out the appeal of any man who wears them, and they have gained popularity both at home and abroad. Salvatore Ferri has had great success with his new business — selling ready-made suits at low prices to the masses. A crew from a U.S. TV station arrives in Italy to do some reporting for a documentary program on him. Filmmaker Leonard (Lenny) DeLuca annoys the fussy Salvatore Ferri at first, but then comes into contact with his personality, which refuses to tolerate compromise in his job. In short order, the filmmaker starts to take an interest in him.

Just as the boat is leaving, they each receive a letter from the same mysterious sender.

His father is a very successful hotel owner, and the letter basically states that Gerard is to come home, buckle down and learn the business, and marry a woman of his father's choosing.

On the top floor of a skyscraper in New York, a party is being held to announce the engagement of actress Brenda Burton to Jake MacNaughton, the son and heir of the president of El Grande, the number one underwear manufacturer in the U.S.A. While Jake is about to marry Brenda for publicity objectives for the company.

Symbolic of the era, termed the "Roaring Twenties," a party is being held one evening at an elegant home in the well-heeled Upper East Side of Manhattan, attended by socialites. The man who lives here is named Alexandre Volskii. Purporting to be a scion of Russian nobility, this young businessman has amassed a huge fortune. Just as the party hits its peak, a gunshot rings out.
