Set right before the fall of Thailand's old capital, Ayuttaya, Bang Rajan draws on the legend of a village of fighters who bravely fended off the Burmese armies.

Whan, the daughter of a village headman, meets a veterinarian on her way home when he helps fix her broken down car. She takes him home to meet her family. The movie is about the life of Ajarn Noo the master of yantra tattooing. He first started to study about magic spells and yantra tattooing at the age of six. His name became renowned as many people tried to test the efficiency of his ability even though he tried to avoid them. The movie shows the way he dealt with his life until he can became who he is today.

This Thai film broke barriers as the first to narrate a queer story and first to star a trans person. It follows the tragic life of a trans performer at a cabaret who falls in love with a handsome male singer who leaves her for a cisgender woman.

But, his skills aren't enough, and he ends up fleeing himself, starting a war of magic spells between master Air, who raises ghosts, and the village's young novice monk who does her level best to repel the ghoulish incarnations. When villager Kalong dies horribly without reason, the villagers' fears about the ghosts are resurrected. And with a bunch of hell-raising, boozy gangsters, led by Noo Dang, looking for trouble at Kalong's funeral, it's left to Kalong's 8-year-old child - the young novice in the village temple - to save the villagers from a horrible fate.
