Young forester Jana Doussière takes up a short-term position at the Grunewald forestry office. Coming from a wild forest in the Vosges, the solitude-loving Jana, who tends to struggle with people, encounters the big city forest and its "Berlin peculiarities". In addition to naked men, demonstrating wild boar fans and committed conservationists, the new forest warden is also confronted with sofas in trees, a mysterious city hunter and forest warden Robin, who hasn't exactly been waiting for her. And even her best friend Aylin, who brought her here, doesn't seem to have told her everything about the new job...

During an evening performance in the an urban multiplex cinema the spectators of a social drama are suddenly torn from the film Reality: Karsten, charismatic leader of a group of starry-eyed idealists, interrupts the running film, steps before the white screen and starts a talk about structural violence and global injustice to the protesting audience. When the first spectators want to defend themselves against this intervention in her evening plans and go it becomes very clear that Karsten is not anlone and is supported by some armed comrades. As the first shots fall, the audience realizes that they are held hostage in a seriously menacing situation and there seems to be no way out from the obstructed cinema.

As a divorced father of two teenage daughters, with a head-strong ex-wife for a best friend, too many peculiar patients to keep up with and a new dog, psychotherapist Max certainly doesn't need another challenge. But when Sophie, a compulsive gambler with a boyfriend problem, regularly shows up late for her appointments, she rocks his world in ways he's not ready for.

Criminal investigator Philip Nabrow is tasked with solving the murder of two police officers. When the case starts to focus on a boxing club, his daughter Elisa, who works in the drug squad, also becomes involved. Cooperation between father and daughter proves difficult, as Nabrow has a secret that he wants to hide, and not just from Elisa.
