A project spanning three years of production and research, Lion is a collection of 7 short films exploring the Chornobyl disaster, the nature of radiation, memory, and personal history. Conceptually arranged in to a film “album”, Lion’s seven works navigate atomic fallout and a girl’s adolescence, a dream before death, radiation as a cause and cure for cancer, masculine bravado, feminine obsession, a trip to Chornobyl amongst the death of a matriarch, and the destruction of memory. Composed of seven works, Lion is a series of films created on 16mm and hand processed with darkroom techniques that mimic the effects of radiation on film. Researched in Chornobyl, the series is a product of memories, history, pop culture and technical experiments to create visual representations of invisible forces.

A kaleidoscopic search for desire trapped inside a volcano. Famous Diamonds is a short film that studies lies, love, and desire by weaving together a diary narrative and an exploding icon. Composed of various image-making techniques, Famous Diamonds is a hand-painted, hand-processed tour of the dissolution of one's internal image of desire.

In The Reason Why, the subjects of growing up queer, fat and lonely are recounted in rebuttal letters to ex-boyfriends who all share the same name. Using a mix of 8mm and experimental video, the piece weaves together pornography, new “Gay Hollywood” movies and memories to explore how to find one’s place while being a minority within a minority community, and how to say all the things that were never said in significant relationships.

"Helium is, effectively, a response to my last year of being remarkably out of touch with my own body and sexuality and finding a lack of basic joy in things. Through this period, I became further obsessed with competitive bodybuilding, as well as discovered the balloon fetish community. This has resulted in a deep fascination as well as jealousy, and I am gazing at both communities with rapt curiosity. In my current state, I am thrilled that people not only find fulfillment and joy in activity I view as marginally futile, but can also derive such intense pleasure from otherwise innocuous objects."

Combining artificial intelligence with analogue 16mm hand processing, Commerce explores the tension between a world constructed by exploiting human labour and the technology poised to replace it.

Incorporating meditations on male sexuality and personal exchanges, "Goodbye" travels through physical memory to reveal the marrow that grows beneath. Placed in a surreal yet pastoral surrounding, "Goodbye" is a letter explored through the journey of agarwood, or jin-koh, a rare oil created by a genus of tree infected with a fungal spore. The piece examines how an intangible object can impress greatly on personal history by relating perfume to memory. Experimenting with the abilities of the Bolex H16 and sound print film stock, this 16mm film was shot and hand-processed at Phil Hoffman's Independent Imaging Retreat.
