rare vines is a diaristic exploration and an euology shaped like a Vine Compilation: six seconds per video in a gapless stream of images and using the qualifier 'rare' in its title.

Grounds, Premises takes the opening scene of Ed Wood's Plan 9 From Outer Space to consider intention and failure. What emerges is a treatise on the creative process with the emphasis on process rather than result. This film was made while teaching a film production course at a castle in the South of the Netherlands, and is dedicated to our fleeting time together.

On his boat, we go as slowly as possible while enjoying the movements around us. The sun in the rippled water, the dogs checking us out with jealousy. This largely unedited roll was filmed on one of the first sunny days of the year.
