Heavily influenced by the French stage sensation La Cage Aux Folles (which was filmed the very same year) a drag-queen comedy about a group of homosexuals sharing an apartment with a naive but straight country boy did not live up to expectations. The lead characters lead boring lives during the day and, as depicted here, downright pathetic existences at night, all decked out in peacock plumes and high heels and with nowhere to go.

Editor Halling is always looking for sensations in his newspaper. He believes in the principle that readers must have what they like,and he therefore notes with satisfaction that there has been a new large jewel theft, the fifth in the last 14 days. It is apparently an unusually cunning gang and the police are powerless. Between the numerous newspaper delivery is the little newspaper girl Suzanne, called Sus, and she manage a small newsstand in Adelgade.

Yvonne and Rolf are getting married. Then Rolf meets Primula and falls in love with her. Primula is fired for being late, but discovers that she is the daughter of the director, whose other daughter, Yvonne, is actually going to marry Rolf. The wedding day arrives, but who will Rolf marry?

In Fiolgade in Helsingør, in a cozy, old farm, commercial gardener Johansen, who became a widower early, lives with his only child, his daughter Mette, who is her father's everything, just as her young friends and acquaintances consider "gardener father" a fatherly friend. When his ancestors seem to appear in the clouds during a storm of biblical proportions, young Ingmar decides to give up his career as the village teacher and to reclaim the land and farm of his fathers. The same stormy night, the charismatic preacher Helgum arrives in the village to spread the word about the promises of the Holy Land, which turns parents and children, men and wives, brothers and sisters, against one another. Ingmar is torn between his love for the headmaster’s daughter Gertrud who is under the preacher’s spell, and the prospects of marrying the judge’s daughter Barbro in order to keep the farm.

There are many ways to travel! Rich Director Brown's two young daughters prefer a first-class coupe in a high-speed train. While the train whizzes along the rails on its way to the big city, the young ladies in a strange way meet two strange guys, one long and thin, the other small and thick ... Fy and Bi! At full speed on the ice, the young scultptor and eager skater Erik Elmer meets a charming young lady, Ethel, who quite literally sweeps him off his feet. She is being deceived by her lawyer, who manages the inheritance from her father in America. The deceitful lawyer courts Ethel, who is soon to inherit her wealthy father’s fortune. Birdwatcher Professor Petersen goes on a summer trip to a remote rocky island. The uninhabited island is home to birds, disturbing scantily clad young girls and a gang of bootleggers. Pat Patachon reluctantly toil for the smugglers, who take Professor Petersen prisoner. The two friends are assigned to guard the suspected spy Petersen, but soon escape together with their new pal.
