Macedonia is a small country, in the heart of the Balkans, which for five centuries was under the yoke of the Ottoman Empire. The action of the film "To the Hilt" takes place in the years of the general collapse and "free fall", after the Macedonian uprising of 1903 which was extinguished in blood. The story is a love quadrangle between an uncompromising idealist rebel, a merciless Turkish officer, an opportunist rich man's son returning home after his studies in Europe and a lucid and open minded European woman, who flirts with the three men and puts in train a series of events with dire consequences, that she could hardly imagine. The film is a harsh and romantic story in which the eternal Macedonian cause for own identity and independence is seen through the prism of relativity of the ideas of freedom, justice, love, sacrifice, and treason.

Two elderly musicians in search of a sweetheart from their younger days cross paths with an up-and-coming young singer. Together, they embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Through fragments of the life of Boris and his son Matej, the film is about the conflict of generations, the gap created by the ideological coloration that one has and the other does not have. His apprentice is young fellow named Fidan, who Serafim teaches the rough and dangerous vampire craft, along with the alphabet and the insecure life in Macedonia. Vampire man and his student in their surroundings get in struggle with: Macedonian vampires, Turkish Authority and with Komiti (Macedonian Revolutionaries), also with Avdzi - Taburi (paid hunters of Komiti). Fidan experiences damnation of the vampire skill, who doesn't know if Serafim is a God's angel or servant of Devil.

A story of two friends: Gordi, strict law obeying citizen, who wants to secure the future of his daughter Alexandra and his eldery days, and Arno, former Legionaire, a man with no God, nor law. We discover that Alexandra is in fact Arno's daugther, that Gordi is not respecting the laws, and that Arno in fact has one law – his given word. He gave a promise to Alexandra's dying mother, that he will look after her and Gordi; he delivers the promised to his own, bloody way.

The story of is placed at the end of the 19th and at the second half of the 20th century. The locations are different and completely opposite: the rural Macedonia at one hand, and the urban environment of an industrial region in Belgium at another...

Vele can’t afford to buy the expensive medications for his father who has cancer. Desperate, he steals marijuana from some criminals, makes a cake with it and gives it to his father, hoping it will reduce his pain.
