The atrocities of a landlord lead one brother to the life of a dacoit while the younger brother becomes a police officer. However, things take a turn when they are pitted against each other.

Rangan, with his simplicity and pure-hardheartedness, takes it upon himself to look after the mother and sister. In the end, he proves that love and affection is the greatest wealth.

Four jailbirds break into a rich man's house with an intent to kill and suddenly realize their humane side.

A young man Raghu sets up an explosive in a railway track to blow up a train. Raghu is a freedom fighter who wants to destroy the train in which British officers are travelling. He returns home after his successful attempt and is slammed by his rich father who is an ardent supporter of the British. Raghu insists that his country and its freedom are more important than anything. When police comes to arrest Raghu, his father hands him to them but Raghu's pregnant wife Parvati diverts the police and lets her husband escape. Raghu escapes in his bike and meets with an accident and is declared dead. Parvati gives birth to a son named Ashok and ten years pass by. She is away from her father-in-law and still in a belief that her husband is alive and shall come to them one day.

A happy-go-lucky guy falls in love with his professor's daughter. Although his brother supports him, his financial situation forces him to make many sacrifices in life.

An honest police constable has a son (R. Muthuraman) and a daughter (C. R. Vijayakumari). Balaji, son of a rich affluent person is a friend of Muthuraman who often visit his house. The woman turns out to be Seetha and she gives them the evidence. One of the members of the jury is her father-in-law and complications follow with the husband leaving her and wishing to marry again. However, the truth comes out and the family is united in the end.

Karaikkal Ammaiyar is a 1973 Indian Tamil Saiva mythological film, written and directed by A. P. Nagarajan and produced by EVR Films. The film's soundtrack was composed by Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan. The film stars Lakshmi, who played the younger-age Punithavathi role, and K. B. Sundarambal, who played the old-age role—as the title characters, with R. Muthuraman, Manorama, Suruli Rajan, V. S. Karaikkal Ammaiyar is one of the three women saints among the 63 Nayanmars and is considered one of the greatest figure of Tamil literature.
