Robert Lahnstein, feared TV commentator, doesn't like people, not even at Christmas. He wants to be alone - even on Christmas Eve. He thinks Christmas is just as hypocritical as politics. That's why he packs his SUV with a frozen goose and a Christmas tree to retreat to his lonely cabin in the mountains. But the plan ends for him in a tree. With the last of his strength he reaches a barn. But he is not allowed to be alone even in the deepest wilderness, because other people have also sought shelter from the snowstorm in this barn and Robert Lahnstein has to gradually put aside his rudeness and his prejudices.

Anna, a young nurse, is desperate: the apartments next to and above her have been undergoing renovations for months, and there's no end in sight. The constant construction noise is getting on her nerves, and her life is spiraling out of control. Anna is therefore desperately searching for a new, affordable apartment—which proves to be nearly impossible in the city. One day, she goes to another apartment tour without much hope. The surprise: the apartment is large, quiet, a bit expensive, but otherwise perfect. The catch: there are other interested parties.

After Hansi's sister and girlfriend want to move to Munich for their respective reasons, he decides not to be a hurdle in their path and let them pursue their goals.
