In 2043, Frank and Xaver have only one big problem with their jobs at a patent office, their boss Dr. Kneitz who's mission it is to make their life miserable. But then an unique opportunity presents itself when an inventor shows up to patent a time machine and they come up with a plan to travel back in time to stop the conceiving of their boss. Accidently Ronny, a night watchman, happens to be in the room with them when they use the time machine and so, in part unwillingly, the 3 of them travel to the year 1988 in Gran Canaria and they only have a couple of days to stop every interaction with potential fathers for the mother to be.

Necessity is the mother of invention. After their stock portfolios slide into the cellar, the two friends Roderik and Fabian have set up another profitable business: the "Marriage Swindler Company". Roderik is the brilliant strategist who directs the amorous scams with a great deal of foresight. Fabian is the front man whose charm melts the hearts of the proudest women like butter in the Koh Samui sun. Fabian also tries to win the heart of Miriam Berger, the rich heiress of the famous "Siam Residence" resort, with his well-rehearsed charm charades. But then Roderik's ingenious strategy gets out of hand: Fabian actually falls in love with Miriam and stops thinking about business...

The German tourist Kiki and the Swiss tour guide Marlies are kidnapped by Contra rebels from Nicaragua while on vacation in Costa Rica. While Kiki's friend Markus fights for her release together with her mother, Kiki begins an affair with one of the kidnappers. When the two women were released after 72 days on payment of ransom, the police suspected that they had colluded with the kidnappers.

In 2002, Holm Dressler wanted to produce a portrait series called “STARdate” that would trace the careers of stars from childhood to fame. According to their own statements, the project was too expensive for “the television stations”, so ultimately only a pilot program about Ralf Moeller, moderated by Alexandra Klim, was realized.
