A.K. Sagar lives a middle-classed lifestyle near Versova, Mumbai, along with his widowed mother, and sister, Chandi. He gets in the bad books of Adi Koli, the brother of to-be M.L.A. Baba Koli, who lives with his mentally impaired sister, Kanak Mahalaxmi, when he interferes with their Hafta collections. Adi then attempts to sexually molest Chandi, and Sagar hunts him down and beats him up. Then Sagar's life changes when he meets with a wealthy young woman and both fall in love with each other. She robs information about Ghani"s movement from Jayasimha"s personal computer and takes him away from the army custody, while he is being shifted from one jail to another.

Chali Cheemalu is a 1978 Telugu film directed by Devadas Kanakala. The film stars Nutan Prasad, Rallapalli and S. P. Sailaja. Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, elder of the Paruchuri Brothers entered the Telugu cinema field as writer. Novel of Mandha Venkata Ramana Rao was developed into a full-length movie by their writing skills. Nutan Prasad’s catch phrase Notokka jillaala andagaadni became popular among the Telugu audience. The film won two Nandi Awards.
