A conscientious tanker driver, Thanasis Papathanasis, works hard to help his sister Afroditi study medicine. He believes that in this way he will be able to marry her off so that then he can finally marry Eleni, whom he has loved for years. His efforts, however, are all in vain, as he is constantly confronted with a corrupt establishment and political situation that generate all the prevailing misfortunes: personal, social and national.

She wants to work, become financially independent, and then, if she finds the man who speaks to her heart, get married and start a family. Katerina simply wants to get married and take care of her children, and the third member of the group wants to solve her financial problems through a wealthy marriage. She doesn't care about love and romance, she doesn't want children, she wants a life full of "money" even if it means marrying without love. The camera finally focuses on Yanna's life, which seems to be going uphill. Remaining steadfast in her beliefs, she looks for work. When, after a year, she manages to find a job in the offices of a factory, her boss, Mr. Georgiou, makes advances towards her and she seriously injures him.

The father of medical in Kos, Hippocrates, believes that illnesses can be treated with medicines and herbs instead of prayers and comes into conflict with the medical establishment of the island. Leaving Kos, he goes to Athens, where he is called to face a plague for save the city.

With the consent of her husband, Dimitris (Stavros Pharmakis), who knows her secret sex life and coexistence, Lena enters a psychiatric clinic. Psychologist Nikolaos Antonios (Vasilis Mitsakis) learns that her mental condition is due both to the primary social condition of her place and to her mother's having her daughter and the man who loved a woman a fisherman. Antonios tries to help him or Lena be dragged by another patient, Libya Popi (Rena Kosmidou).

A cheerful and optimistic guy, Pericles Lianos, takes the train from Xerokhori and heads for Athens, carrying a suitcase containing six hundred thousand drachmas. With this money, he plans to buy a house with a vegetable garden, open a grocery store, and settle permanently in the capital. Being a good-natured man, he tells everyone about his plans, and it doesn't take him long to realize that there are many who want to get their hands on his money...

Manolis finishes his military service and stays in the capital, at his uncle's house (Kostas Kazakos). He finds a job and tries to build a life for himself. However, he gets mixed up with dangerous people and gets a close-up view of the world of drugs and marginalization.

Con artist Steve Blair persuades Tony Dallas, a Manhattan gangster, to finance a movie about Adam and Eve by offering the female lead to Tony's stripper girl friend, Cha Cha Miller. The film is such a disaster, however, that Steve and his writer, Paul Ferris, decide to escape on a freighter to Greece. En route, Steve learns that the island of Paradeisos has lost its tourist trade because it has no apparent historical or mythological heritage. Intrigued, he hits upon the scheme of turning Paradeisos into a legendary island of love and taking a cut from all commercial enterprises. After planting Greek antiquities in the waters surrounding the island, Steve induces Paul to "recover" them, thus causing the tourist trade to increase.
