Teresa, a cabaret star, has to leave her work due to the death of her father. She decides to go to the small village where he lived to meet her brother, Miguel, who is going to marry Marisol soon. Teresa begins to feel attracted to Miguel, and tries to seduce him

1870. Agnes, of the wealthy family of Villalonga, enter as a novice in a cloistered convent. He soon falls in love with James, a soldier brother of another inmate, Sister Jacinta, and is answered by it. To be together, the young man invents an excuse, but is wounded by the Carlist.

The action takes place in the 14th century, in times of the reconquest, in the Kingdom of Valencia. Father Vicente is a chaste monk who fights against all kinds of vices and sins, against superstition and against the beliefs of Muslims and Jews. Carles Mira's first feature film was inspired by the great amount of popular imagery that has provoked the supposed miracles of Saint Vicente Ferrer. The repertoire includes anecdotes of grotesque and eschatological character with an eminently esperpento touch.
