On Mickey's birthday, Miss Pipps, the school teacher, serves cake and ice cream during school hours. Sour old Mr. Pratt, head of the school board, stumbles on the festivities and has Miss Pipps fired. The Our Gang conspire to save her job by inviting all the parents to a special meeting. There the gang stage a melodrama, with Mr. Pratt portrayed as Simon Legree. The parents react by demoting Mr. Pratt to janitor. They appoint kindly Mr. Swanson, the current janitor, to head the school board. And of course they reinstate Miss Pipps as school teacher. Sometime later, in an act of forgiveness, Miss Pipps and the gang hold a birthday party for Pratt who is then humbled by the experience.

That Mothers Might Live is a 1938 American short drama film directed by Fred Zinnemann. When a wealthy man is found murdered in his bedroom, one of his two adopted sons is arrested and charged with the killing. However, the verdict at his trial is an acquittal. When two confidence men induce the populace to invest in a fake oil well scheme, Paul and Daddy Moffat, with the help of lawyer Colonel Culpepper, start another phony oil well and force the confidence men to buy it out at a high price. Paul returns the townspeople's money and tells Margaret the story; she then agrees to marry him.

Nadine Fortier is captured by a band of desert marauders. "The Sheik" wins her in a game of dice but then lets her go - for now.
