In a hospital's five-bed room—room number 13—there are five very different men with very different backgrounds: District Court Judge Winther, fashion designer Philip André, bank teller Madsen, the incorrigible burglar Herluf "Smukke Arne" Jensen, and legation secretary Konrad Konradsen. The legation secretary has done something foolish and fallen into the clutches of the blackmailer Helmer Gamtofte. He is in possession of some compromising photographs, which he keeps in a safe deposit box at the bank where Madsen works. The camaraderie that develops in room 13 becomes the driving force that prompts the district court judge to suggest that "Smukke Arne" help Konradsen break into the bank and steal the photos.

This film could easily be a true story taken from contemporary Denmark. It is a typical Tuesday morning: stormy weather, slush, and bitter cold. Two young women are cycling to work. They make an unpleasant discovery: they find a dead man on a bench in the park.

Niels Pind is a drunkard who is exploited by some of the town's residents. This comes to an end when his son, Jens, returns from America with a lot of money. Jens buys the local estate and starts extracting gravel from the ground. He quickly gains a bad reputation in the area because he only thinks about money. Niels Pind disowns his son. However, Jens changes as he falls more and more in love with Ingrid.

Frederik Larsen (Lau Lauritzen Jr.), a sailor and has sailed since he was 15. Now he has lost the desire for a sailor life, especially after his best friend Bob was lost in a hurricane. When his ship docks at Copenhagen, shortly before Christmas, he signs off with all his hire on the pocket. He seeks accommodations in sailor home Bertel, located on the nice side of Nyhavn. Here he can stay and eat for very little money. He delivers his kitbag to the concierge Henrik (Mogens Hermansen) before he was lured by accordion music and the laughter that comes to him from the "naughty" side of Nyhavn. In the Cafe "The black sails", he accidently joins Inger (Lisbeth Movin) at the same table, whose profession is not in the phone book, although it is the world's oldest. Inger is in the company of an unemployed stoker Vladimir W. Olsen (Poul Reichhardt) that is full of scams, and has a good mood.

Denmark, 1967. In the midst of a cultural renaissance, all cultured people want to support Danish cinema, especially when it receives funding from the film fund to shoot scenes on location in a bank. The respectable bankers naturally agree to play extras in their own bank and be a little cultured for just one evening. No one suspects that the film's script is the work of "Grosserer Nielsen" from Vesterport, alias "Smukke Arne." No one suspects why "Karate Smutti" is having a field day teaching physical exercises. No one suspects why little Mrs. Jensen in the attic across from Aktiebanken has two nice lodgers. No one knows why Rosa—Dad's own pet—is fussing over her window boxes in the porch. WHO relieved Aktiebanken of 2 million stray dollars is a mystery—except to Judge Vinter. But Handsome Arne and Rose are enjoying an expensive and wonderful vacation—far, far, far away from Denmark.

The sympathetic farmers couple, Mads and Katrine (Hass Christensen and Malberg) are marked by their daughter's death. Katrine has to avoid other children. When Mads invites six city children for the summer holiday, however, old traumas are recovered.

Hans Høj is the director of Music-Boxen. He also has an uncle, Uncle Bill. Uncle Bill is the super-duper CEO of the Music-Boxen group, which is based in New York, and Hans is the director of the Danish branch because Hans is Bill's nephew. That's right! The three sons of devout Danish farmer Morten have widely disparate religious beliefs. When Mikkel's wife, Inger goes into a difficult childbirth, everyone's beliefs are put to the test.

It turns out they are sisters, and will inherit from their late mother, if the can stay together one month in the same house. They end up in a lot of (romantic) trouble, because of speculations of who their father(s) might be.

At Vesterbros Torv in Copenhagen, Olsen has his newspaper kiosk. Here comes high and low in society: Homeless, a district attorney with pain in marriage, a barmaid and a writer. They all fight with theirs, while Olsen's good heart makes him interfere in everything he can.

First mate Knud Karlsen has just received sad news from his girlfriend. On board the ship is also chef Valdemar, sailor Ole, owner's confident son Robert and a whole bunch of eager sailors. A tale of wealthy youth in post-WWII Copenhagen.

It's all about an anonymous little gray book originating from sexually advanced Paris. The book doesn't look like much, but shouldn't be judged by its cover. Wherever this book goes, something will happen. And for sure, this book goes around.

The film begins with Baron von Rosensteen's funeral. As Rosensteen has no heirs, the old Rosensteen Castle is to be inherited by the Rabenfeldt family. Supreme Court Attorney Berg visits the widow baroness about a document found among the papers of her son, the deceased baron. It turns out that the baron had a child out of wedlock with a non-noble woman. The widow baroness and the Supreme Court attorney decide to find the child, as this would mean that an heir to the castle had been found. The child turns out to be a girl named Anne Tofte, who works at a gas station with her uncle Lars Tofte and his colleague Hans Høy. They persuade Anne to live with the baroness for a while, which she is not very keen on. The widow tries to teach Anne to be a fine lady, rather than the tomboyish workshop mechanic her uncle had raised her to be.

Three young men discover a scam that three somewhat older gentlemen from Aarhus' upper class have set up to avoid bankruptcy. The gentlemen directors have both accounts and safe deposit boxes at the bank branch where one of the young men works, so it seems only natural to give the swindlers a taste of their own medicine, so to speak. The situation is further complicated when a journalist gets wind of the double heist and wants his share of the pie.

After a gruesome meeting with the tax authorities Alex Alexander takes a drive in the countryside to calm down. While driving, he accidentally runs into an elephant from a circus. When he is stopped by the police and tells them about the elephant they think he is crazy. He is committed to an asylum by the very authorities his taxes are funding. The doctor tries to convince him that the elephants were not really there, but he gets more help from manic fellow patient Knudsen who makes him realize that everybody in the world is crazy in some way.

In the small idyllic town Randrup, lives on nature-loving and friendly thatcher Rasmus Thomsen (Oswald Helmuth). In addition to refurbish people's roofs, he runs a small "geschæft" that "The wise man". Son Ulf (Frits Helmuth), which reads the doctor's home on leave before the final exam in Copenhagen. Rasmus' big dream has always been that Ulf had to be "real doctor" and achieve what he always wanted so dearly. Kurt Hoffmann′s satire concerning Germany′s development during the first half of the 20th century tells the story of two schoolmates - Hans and Bruno. They could not be more different. While Hans is ambitious and must always work hard for his career, it seems that the happy go lucky Bruno is carefree.

Editor Halling is always looking for sensations in his newspaper. He believes in the principle that readers must have what they like,and he therefore notes with satisfaction that there has been a new large jewel theft, the fifth in the last 14 days. It is apparently an unusually cunning gang and the police are powerless. Between the numerous newspaper delivery is the little newspaper girl Suzanne, called Sus, and she manage a small newsstand in Adelgade.

The bank is located in the square of a small, idyllic market town, and its manager, Anders B. Schmidt, is seriously ill in the town hospital. At the beginning of the story, he is quietly passing away. In the wealthy neighborhood of the market town, we find the bank manager's villa, which has been his pride and joy for many years. He leaves behind a deeply grieving widow and four adult children. It soon emerges that the respected citizen had a love affair before he got married, and this causes outrage.

Tove Andersen's problem ends in Christianshavn's moat, and this is where the film begins. The body has a noose around its neck. The homicide division is called in, and it turns out that shortly before her death, she had undergone an illegal operation. An unscrupulous womanizer had abandoned the young student from the countryside when the relationship had consequences. On a dark and gloomy evening, the heirs of the deceased millionaire Jensen-Bosch gather at his old castle to hear his last wishes. The darkness lies close around the old castle, everything portends evil. As long as the family has existed, it has never been able to agree. A Danish journeyman carpenter, Søren Hvid, and his friend Christian are travelling through Germany as part of their journeyman years, known as being ‘on the Walz’. They are accepted into the brotherhood of journeymen with the usual rituals prescribed for such events, meet fellow craftsmen on their travels and find work in a lumber yard.
