A rancher, smitten with a pretty young girl he meets, hires himself out to her as a chauffeur, only to find out that she's on her way to his ranch. In order not to look foolish he keeps up the pretense, but his crooked ranch foreman eventually brings matters to a head.

Nancy Raynor (Georgia Hale) is arriving from the East to see her dying uncle. Clint Beasley (Oland) and his gang are determined to kidnap her before she reaches him.

Dare Rudd and Bate Fillmore have been enemies since early childhood, primarily over the affections of Nell Worstall. When the senator visits her with a large sum of money belonging to the state, three "reformed" crooks on the premises plan to steal it. Fortune's friends learn of the plot and decide to take the money for safekeeping, but Fortune intervenes; the real crooks do steal the funds, however, and depart with Helen in an automobile. Fortune overtakes the speeding car and rescues Helen.

Drifter Dick Manners arrives at a ranch owned by Colonel Angus McClelland. When he wagers that he will be able to ride a wild bronco and kiss the ranchman's haughty daughter, Jean -- and wins -- he lands a job there. But Manners and Jean really fall in love and Colonel McClelland fires him. He then meets a woman who is dying, and she begs him to marry her so that her child will have a name. Manners obliges, and then Jean finds out about the situation.

Mary Heath's brother Dave is accidentally killed in a gambling den. Mary’s sweetheart, John Trevor, discovers the joint is secretly owned by his mother and he denounces her. As Dave was the head of the Heath household, John, knowing that Dave was head of the Heath household, feels responsible for the boy's death and offers himself as a replacement. Treated badly initially, eventually the family takes him into their hearts.

Hoping to win the girl's favor, the two go to the gangsters' hideout, encounter a violent gang war, and accidently set off a case of police tear bombs. The police, summoned by Marie, arrive just in time to save the kidnaped attorney.

Infuriated, she goes to John Kenton, a crooked lawyer, for aid. Kenton sees an opportunity for wealth if he marries Geraldine, but Bill tells her that Kenton is only after her money. She gets more infuriated. While Bill and a posse are raiding an immoral cabaret, Kenton raids the Paradise freight depot to steal the money. The depot catches fire and Kenton shoots his henchman to save himself. The town and Geraldine think Kenton is a hero. It is up to Bill to prove otherwise.

Isle of Sunken Gold is a 1927 American adventure film serial directed by Harry S. Webb. The film was long considered to be lost, however, chapters 4, 5, and 6 and reel 1 of chapter 7 were recently discovered in a European archive and retranslated back into English. A sea captain obtains half of a map directing him to an enormous treasure on a south sea island. The princess who rules the island possesses the other half of the map, and together they fight off the pirates and natives who would prevent their retrieval of the treasure.

Reggie Collins wins a bet that he will capture a notorious crook and his gang.

Midnight Molly' is hit by a car while evading the police, and mistakenly identified as the wife of John Warren, candidate for mayor, whom she resembles. The real Mrs Warren has run off with another man, George Calvin, and John Warren is happy to recognise Molly as his wife. Molly continues to impersonate his wife on her recovery, saving Warren from the consequences of a divorce scandal. Calvin learns of the deception and tries to blackmail Warren, without success. A detective pursues Molly, but only gains fingerprints of the real Mrs Warren. Mrs Warren and Calvin are killed in a motor car accident, leaving Warren and Molly free to marry.

Ruth Rogens (Sylvia Breamer) is married to policeman John Rogens (Jack Mower), whose work causes him to neglect her. Her neighbor Adelaide Thomas (Gertrude Astor), the mistress of bootlegger Cyler Bryson (Bruce Gordon),invites her out on a party and loans her a gown. Before long, Cyler, the cad, is buying Ruth fancy clothes and forgets about Adelaide. The latter, in revenge, leads Cyler's wife Grace (Helene Sullivan), to believe that Ruth is her husband's mistress. John makes a raid on the bootlegger's warehouse and finds his wife in Cycler's company at a roadhouse.

While he goes to his lender to repay his debts, Sam Perry is robbed. He decides to hunt down the bandit, whose description corresponds strangely to that of Dutton, known as "Dude".

British intelligence officers head off a Nazi plot to kidnap an atomic scientist.

Gold miner Edd Denmeade loves Lucy Watson, the sister of the official mining claim recorder. Denmeade suspects Watson of killing his father, who after a poker game was shot by a gambler "who shuffles with one hand." The real murderer, Sam Spralls, has convinced Watson that he killed Denmeade and threatens to expose him unless Watson assigns him all the gold claims. Spralls assembles a band of killers to jump the claims when Watson complies. Eventually, Denmeade learns the identity of the killer when he sees Spralls shuffle a deck of cards. He forms a vigilante party and rids the community of Spralls and his gang.

Helen Webb (Helen Holmes) is willfully wooed by a man with a mysterious past (Bruce Gordon) who joins her father's line as a new engineer. Helen hops aboard his locomotive just as more about his past is uncovered.

A feud has been raging between the Lee and Mitchell families, in the forbidden valley of the Kentucky hills. Soon after, Jones reappears and explains that Dave is the real Mitchell heir, thus clearing the path for Jack and Morning Glory's reconciliation.

According to the will of old Anthony Cole, his heir must live for one year in the spooky residence known as "the house of the tolling bell." The dread of the house and the superstitions enshrouding it are so great that only two people consent to undergo the ordeal. Jules La Rocque, a distant relative, plots to obtain both Lucy and the Cole millions.
