FRAGMENT | These recordings were part of Valdemar Psilander’s live performance at the Royal Orfeum in Budapest, in February and March 1914. Psilander financed the show himself, and it was a mixture of film and theatre under the title Count Dahlborg’s Secret. The film footage, which unfortunately hasn’t been preserved in its entirety, opened the performance, after which Psilander himself rode onto the stage and continued the action. (stumfilm.dk)

At a party, Frede meets the popular actress Edith, with whom he falls head over heels in love. One day, he’s in the theatre to see her perform, he overhears a conversation which shows her in a new and bad light. FRAGMENT | In the cellars of Kronborg, a fully armed Holger the Dane sits quietly sleeping when he is suddenly called into action. Princess Gloriant has fallen into the clutches of the heathen giant Burmand, so Holger must act swiftly. Fortunately, he arrives in time to prevent the abductor from harming his intended victim. Only a fragment of the film has been preserved. In its entirety, it told the tales related in the two legends about ‘Holger Danske and Didrik the Strong’ and ‘Holger Danske and Burmand’. Leo suspects Sonja of infidelity, although she is in fact – for better or worse – fraternising with militant nihilists. One evening, Leo secretly follows her and ends up in the clutches of the nihilists, who give him an ultimatum that puts his life at stake. When Rose falls victim to a serious accident, Clayton risks his life to save her whereas Edmond cowardly shrinks from helping. The events escalate to a huge gasoline fire, Brown’s death and poor Elly’s capture by pirates. Fortunately, John Elton heroically extinguishes the fire and, just in the nick of time, saves Elly, whom he has long admired. Of the films that Psilander made at Nordisk during the first two years it is the film Dødsspring til Hest fra Cirkuskuplen (The Great Circus Catastrophe), that is worth noting. Maybe not so much for Psilander's acting, but for the sensational, action-packed storylines that he was in. This film shows the other side of Psilander's fame: his daring. He was an excellent rider and looked fantastic in long riding boots and elegant riding jackets and this skill was exploited in his films.

In the small kingdom of Snobbéria, a rollicking tale of mistaken identity unfolds. A busy journalist called Herbert Prince sets out for a much-needed holiday, and while on the train he is mistaken for Prince Karl Heinrich of Snobbéria. Deciding to have a little fun, Prince stays in character as a royal. Upon arriving in his holiday destination of Waldeck, he is effusively received by the mayor, with whose daughter Prince immediately falls in love. Soon the real prince, Karl Heinrich, reads about the supposedly royal visit and sets off to surprise his doppelganger. (Stumfilm.dk)

FRAGMENT | The Family Steffensen lives on a farm in Southern Jutland. The area has been under German rule for 60 years, when WW I suddenly breaks out. The possibility of regaining the lost land brings new hope to the border people, but the poor Steffensen's farm is threatened by compulsory sale. Secretly, the youngest son runs off to Denmark to get money, but he doesn't make it back before his parents are forced out of their home. Surprisingly, the family's farm laborer has come into money and acquires the farm. The restored film is only a fragment of the original film. Boarding school friends Edith and Yvonne's intimate friendship is put to the test by fate in this tragic love triangle. Their paths diverge when Edith's father dies and she has to move back home to her mother. Years pass, Edith marries a handsome officer, while Yvonne pursues an artistic career.
