A famous businessman's links with organized crime are looked into by the Zero Division of the Tokyo Police, with the investigation being headed by a highly trained, extremely violent and very beautiful female officer. The Giant Baba Memorial Spectacular took place on January 28, 2001 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan and was a joint promotion between All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) and New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). The event was themed around memorializing AJPW's founder Shohei "Giant" Baba, who had died in 1999. It was the second Giant Baba Memorial event and was subsequently followed by the Giant Baba Memorial Cup and the Giant Baba Memorial Six Man Tag Team Tournament a year later. Ten professional wrestling matches were held on the event's card, including one that featured AJPW and NJPW champions.

Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling (FMW) wraps up their eleven day Year End Sensation tour with the Year End Spectacular. The vent was the third and final annual Year End Spectacular event, and marked the in-ring return of Atsushi Onita.

The Japanese extreme wrestling league, the FMW, is truly wrestling at its hardest. Few other wrestling leagues in the world feature a broken glass and barbed wire death match, and, as an added bonus, this particular match features WWF star Mick Foley (as Cactus Jack) taking on Kanemura. Later, Hayabusa and the multi-belt world champion Masato Tanaka go up against the legendary Terry Funk and the devil's henchman Mr. Pogo in a match direct from wrestling hell.
