One night there is a terrible accident in the little station town of Bredsted. The young son of the rich Mogens Kragfelt is struck by the Natekspressen (P. 903) near the station. Hearts That Meet (Swedish: Hjärtan som mötas) is a 1914 Swedish silent drama film directed by Victor Sjöström.

Also known as Life on the Hegn Farm, this domestic drama is based on a popular novel by Jeppe Aakjear. Simple in the extreme, the story concerns the romantic travails of country lass Trine (Karen Nellemose), who is being forced into a wealthy marriage to a man she does not love.

We are in a Zealand village in the years before the reading of the staves. Jacob, the son of alderman Jeppe, goes from farm to farm and blows for the town meeting. Today the farmers are to meet to discuss when to start the rye harvest. The young farmer, who is eager to get started, does not have much confidence that they will be able to agree. When he gets home, he asks his father why they cannot harvest right away. Maybe it will be like last time, when the rye was rotting in the field. He does not understand that they always have to wait for the others. The old farmer gives him a sharp rebuke: "Don't pretend to be smarter than you are!“

The year is 1864, and the young officer cadet Felix courageously throws himself at the prussian troops in Fredericia. From there, his regiment is ordered to travel to Dybbøl, where fierce battles against the German forces are awaiting them.
